BANKS KYPE MUIR COMMUNITY FUND

Kype Muir Community Fund

The Kype Muir Community Fund uses income generated by the Banks Kype Muir Windfarm to provide support to eligible local projects that provide social, economic and / or environmental benefit. The geography of the fund covers communities in South Lanarkshire within a 10 km radius of the Wind Farm. Priority is given to projects in the Community Council areas of Lesmahagow, Sandford and Upper Avondale, Stonehouse, Strathaven & Glassford and Blackwood, Kirkmuirhill and Boghead.  County Durham Community Foundation manages the Community Fund on behalf of Banks Renewables.

Stonehouse Community Council forms part of the Kype Muir Community Panel, which helps oversee the Fund.  Funding will be linked to projects in the Community Consultation Summary and Action Plan, with the document can be accessed by clicking here.

Before applying to the Kype Muir Community Funds, groups are asked to discuss your project with a member of the Community Council or Banks fund Manager. To start this conversation, send an email to stonehousecommunitycouncil@gmail.com or contact the Banks Community Fund, fund manager at the CDCF, before applying for a grant. Tel 0191 378 6342 or email fundmanager@bankscommunityfund.org.uk

Further information about the fund, including the fund guidelines, panel meeting dates and deadlines for applications can be found on the fund information page on the County Durham Community Foundation website.
