Dear stakeholder,
I am writing to let you know about a million pounds investment project to address sewer flooding in Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire.
On Monday 17 July we will begin installing a new upgraded sewer and manholes in the Cander Centre car park, across King Street and then along a section of Queen Street.
The five-month long project will further protect the village from sewer flooding following the recent completion of our £2.5million sewer upgrade centred on the primary school.
We appreciate the impact this kind of work has on a small community, and we will do all that we can to work with residents and businesses to minimise any disruption.
To that end we will split the work into three distinct phases once the site has been set up:
- Phase 1 – lay a new sewer in Cander Centre car park which will be closed for approximately six weeks
- Phase 2 – Lay a new sewer across King Street. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation
- Phase 3 – Lay a new sewer along Queen Street. A short section will be closed near the junction with King Street
We would like to thank road users and residents in advance for their patience and understanding during these essential works.
Full information about all the phases can be found on our website www.scottishwater.co.uk/stonehouse
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions at all.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Matt
