Planning Proposal of application: Overwood Energy Recovery Facility (Incinerator)

A proposal of application was made to South Lanarkshire council on 29th January 2021. The only information that the community council has on the application is detailed below. We will update as we receive more information.
The community council will digest the information that it has and will start to gather information on the proposed application. It is unfortunate that the application has been made during the Covid 19 pandemic however there is nothing in the planning legislation to precude an application being made at this time.

We have been advised that viridor have created a project website that will host two virtual public exhibitions along with information regarding the proposals. We will also be hosting live chat sessions where members of the public can speak to the project team.
The first virtual exhibition will be online from Thursday 11th February 2021, with two live chat events taking place on:
• Thursday 18th February 2021 - 2pm to 6pm
• Thursday 25th February 2021 - 4pm to 8pm
The second virtual exhibition (the first virtual exhibition will also remain live) will be online from Thursday 1st April 2021, with two live chat events taking place on:
• Thursday 8th April 2021 - 2pm to 6pm
• Thursday 15th April 2021 - 4pm to 8pm
